Movie - National Treasure 2

During a dedication ceremony of Civil War memorabilia, Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicolas Cage) was confronted with Mitch Wilkinson (Ed Harris) saying that he had proof that Gates' great, great granddad was involved in the assassination plot of President Lincoln. What would you do if you were told one of your ancestors may have been involved in one of the worst days in American history? Exactly what Gates and his team (dad, mom, girlfriend, and friend) did, follow the clues to prove he was fighting against the group that was involved and burning the information that would have changed the outcome of the Civil War. Those clues came from different places, an old diary starts them with a cryptogram that leads them to the statue of liberty (did you know there were 3). Following the clues led them to Buckingham palace and the White house, while some clues were easier to retrieve, some took a little more maneuvering to find just the right approach and the right questions to get the answers. All the while, trying to keep Wilkinson from getting to the secrets, in the end, they may all have to work together to get out alive.

The return of this cast makes it so easy to enjoy this movie. As the movie progressed, the characters showed their character again. The nutty friend Riley Poole (Justin Bartha), wrote a book and had a moment that he knew more than Gates and Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger). The addition of mom (Helen Mirren) and dad (Jon Voight) on the expedition proved funny, straight laced professor knows a few things about ancient writings and finally finds out what the draw is to go on one of these treasure hunts. Watched this with the kids (rated PG), they both enjoyed the site of ‘the City‘ (great set) and the part where ‘mom and dad‘ vine swinging across a river
