Four sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy (Winona Ryder, Trini Alvarado, Claire Danes and Kirsten Dunst) and their mother (Susan Sarandon) have their own battles, of life with their father gone. Making do with less the girls find other ways to entertain themselves while the bonds of sisterhood grow. Even with the interests of men starting, the girls are able to have a loving connection to each other through all of lives obstacles.
Obviously wonderful characters, and great performances from a strong cast makes this re-make of the revered classic a great addition to any library. Not the type of movie to be watched just once. The emotion of the book is clearly portrayed by these actors. It is sometimes hard to find good book to movie or even movie remakes, this is both and is done in a fabulous way to make it a great movie. This is a 1994 movie.
